Using Opera 8.5 now. Brilliant!

Anyone else using this brilliant browser like to comment? I really can live without Firefox, and this really does feel like an upgrade. I have managed to configure the initially overcrowded toolbars… easily done, and now it’s spot on. Fast, small memory footprint, compatible… and it’s extensive features are very useful if you try them. Personally I like quick keyboard shortcuts, like Z and X for back & Forward; F12 & CTRL F12 for preferences menus; F4 for sidebar display, and F11 on this browser shows a Full Fullscreen! Mouse gestures and voice commands too make for a browser with real power, yet very fast and with it’s home-grown rendering engine, not plagued by any potential security problems featured by IE or Gecko products. Love the “Magic Wand” feature too. Works well.

Oh forget it. I’ll stick with…

Firefox for now!

It may be a little slower than Opera, but I’m damned sure it’s not as quirky.  It just works, and it’s quick enough for me.  As for Flock…  Not just yet eh?  Still buggy.

Web Browser Confusion

Posted in Software at 10:09 pm by captkidd

OK… Here we go (as have so many before me):

Firefox: Excellent, Quick enough, Many extensions available, often updated.

Opera: Excellent, Fastest of all, Small memory footprint, full of features and easily customisable.

Flock: Brilliant, but firefox underneath (not that I’m complaining), problem is it is barely even in Beta and some stuff don’t work yet.

IE6: OK so I’m confused, but not stupid!
